"Remains of the Holy" are the shreds of humanism. The soul itself or better, what has left from it. Our society is in complete decadence and all of us we behave like mad kings with no consciousness of our actions and others. The remains of our souls is the only hope to bring what is lost but the need of self knowledge as an act of repentance is hard to achieve. The easiest thing to do is to put the blame on one another but whose gonna cast the stone first?
lyrics
"Remains of the Holy"
I am the moon, the sun,
but's not enough...
I hold the crown, the spear,
but's not enough...
Thought i made it all so clear,
is endless but will last?
He once was, now is here
and yet to appear.
First of all,
cast the stone for I have sinned.
All i know...
who's without a sin.
Somebody wiped my tear,
but's not enough...
and told me not to fear,
but's not enough...
Thought I made it all so clear,
questions hiding my path.
He once was, now is here
and yet to appear.
First of all,
cast the stone for I have sinned.
All i know...
who's without a sin.
On the eleventh hour,
on judgement day,
I will let you run
but there's no escape.
Back and forth,
on a timeless race,
I will let you run
but there's no escape.

This is colossal. I’ve been enjoying these guys for years but this album is next level. They seemed to have found their stride & it’s a biggin’. I feel that they’re heading into the Groove/Rock Genre of Clutch but still carry that epic, larger-than-life sound you’d expect from Zeppelin or later era Soundgarden. Their sound is tighter than a fish’s ass (and that’s water tight) & whatever these guys are doing; I’m loving it. And…the vocals are so, so, so good! I’m excited for their next outing. Harry Harrison
